WAY Down South

Sally Mars is a known throughout the advertising world for her Broadcast, Art and Photo Production services. A former Director of Art Buying at Fallon Worldwide, Sally Mars Productions has been serving agencies, design firms and vendors since 1999.

Mars has to date produced work in over 20 countries and 37 of the 50 U.S. states. She has produced projects on land, sea and air. She’s worked with numerous stars of screen and stage, too many famous musicians to count, and professional athletes in every major sport including dozens of Hall of Famers.

Mars has worked with lions, tigers, bears, mice, dogs, cats, elephants, horses, snakes and insects. She’s gone days without sleep, and subsequently slept for days. She’s been on the brickyard for the start of the Indy 500, in the well at Fenway Park, straddled a partially opened draw bridge across the Chicago River and shut down lanes of the Golden Gate Bridge. She even sailed an America’s Cup yacht despite the fact that women were, officially, forbidden on board.

All this and more, in service to Production.

Mars’s non-commercial body of work is impressive as well, having screened films at most every major festival including Sundance and SXSW. She’s produced books, and has been published in many more. She’s a writer with a small following and a fine-art photographer who co-hosts the F-Stop Group in Minneapolis with Tom Arndt. She loves baseball, art, movies and dogs.

Especially dogs. In 2017 Sally Mars and her husband artist Chris Mars began rescuing dogs from Mexico in conjunction with Minnesota’s Secondhand Hounds, with which they volunteer. So she produces dog rescue, too.
